The “GENUINE ISSUE” with people of Pakistan

We all can see the critical situation in Pakistan. There are so many things going on and politics is the main discussion . Pakistan is going through so many problems and these problems are becoming complex day by day. Public does not know whom they should vote. Before deciding who to vote there are so many factors in one’s mind. It is not about the right political party or the right person but it is about getting advantage on an individual level. People do not pay attention to who is right and honest person for the country but in fact they focus on the party in which they have their people, relatives, friends, cousins etc so that they could get help and favours. The problem is that people are not thinking about other people in the country and are being selfish.

On the other hand they are being “prejudice” and judging someone without knowing the reality, is another big issue for Pakistan. There are categories of people and they all have their own standards. The two main categories are the liberal one and the conservative one, (Rich and poor). When it comes to middle class or the conservative category, they need a sort of leader who is religious, religious extremist, strict in Islamic laws, they want shariat law in the country, and they do not want coeducation and all the other points similar to these. When it comes to liberal class or the rich people, the case gets different. They want a liberal leader, they do not care about shariat law, strict Islamic laws and religion as according to them religion is something personal.

There is another category which is mixed category. They belong to middle class or conservative class but their standards are of liberal class and the other way around.

When it comes to electing someone, different categories have different standards. The problem is that this works one way. Not all of the categories get satisfied. When liberal gets satisfied middle class gets against, when conservatives get satisfied liberals get irritated and the process goes on.

One must keep in mind that personal choices and standards should not be forced on to others. Every person has a way of life and standards. One cannot force personal standards on someone who is not willing.

People start judging before time. For instance if a woman is not covering her head so according to conservative class she is not good, according to liberal she is normal. What about the Mumtaz Qadri case. There were people who welcomed him for killing Salaman Taseer, but there were millions of people who condemned.

This attitude has to be changed. People should try to keep their personal choices to themselves and should not expect that others are going to follow them as everyone has freedom. Leaders should be selected on the basis of honesty, authenticity and sincerity towards the state rather than our personal benefits and relatives in the party.
